WATERBURY — Members of the Waterbury Democratic Town Committee gathered for their organizational meeting Thursday night, electing a new slate of party leadership.

The City of Waterbury is traditionally a Democratic Stronghold and the members of the Waterbury DTC tend to have significant power within the party and the City as whole.

Ron Napoli Sr. , father of Ron Napoli Jr current 73rd State Rep, was elected chairman, joined by Larry Butler -72nd as first vice chair and Coralys Santana as second vice chair. Malisa Blasini was elected corresponding secretary, Erhan Ismaili as recording secretary, Trayvonn Diaz as treasurer, and Seth Drewry as deputy treasurer.

During his acceptance remarks, Napoli referenced the political movement associated with Franklin D. Roosevelt, emphasizing a focus on delivering results for residents and continuing to build the local party.

This lays the foundation for what is sure to be a riveting election season as nearly every democratic held seat in Waterbury will be contested this November.
