WATERBURY, CT — The Waterbury Police Department announced that a fugitive wanted for murder out of New York has been taken into custody in the city.
On March 13, 2026, officers assigned to the United States Marshals Service, working alongside the Emergency Regional Response Team, executed a search warrant targeting 27-year-old Malik Williams.
Williams had an active arrest warrant out of New York for Murder in the Second Degree, according to authorities.
He was located and taken into custody in Waterbury. During the apprehension, police say Williams engaged in conduct that led to an additional charge of Interfering with an Officer.
Officials emphasized that the arrest reflects ongoing collaboration between local and federal agencies to locate and apprehend individuals wanted for serious crimes.
