Waterbury- The Waterbury Police Department says a routine traffic stop led to the seizure of a firearm and the arrest of two men.
Officers from the Traffic Services Unit were patrolling the area of East Main Street and Wall Street on April 2 when they stopped a 2025 Nissan for a traffic violation.
During the investigation, police recovered a Taurus PT111 G2 handgun.
Jeremiah Montes, 22, and Christian Soriano, 19, both of Waterbury, were taken into custody without incident.

Police say the two are facing charges including weapons in a motor vehicle, carrying a firearm without a permit, illegal sale or transfer of a firearm, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
This arrest is the latest in a growing number of firearm-related incidents across the city in recent weeks, as the Waterbury Police Department continues targeted enforcement efforts.
