WATERBURY, CT — The next generation of Naugatuck Valley League talent is already getting to work.
The Greater Waterbury YMCA is launching its “Game Time Hoops” league — a co-ed program for 6th through 8th grade players designed to give young athletes real game experience and prepare them for the next level.
For many of these players, this is more than just a league.
It’s the foundation for future high school careers across Waterbury and the greater Naugatuck Valley.
More Than Just Games
With a focus on structured weekly matchups, Game Time Hoops is built to:
- Develop confidence on the court
- Strengthen teamwork and communication
- Teach real in-game decision making
This is where young players begin to understand what it takes to compete — and eventually represent their schools in the NVL.
League Details
- 📅 Fridays | April 17 – June 26
- ⛔ No games on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth
- 🕔 Game Times: 5 PM, 6 PM, 7 PM
- 🏀 1 game per week
- 👥 6 teams (6–10 players each)
Registration
- Members: $25
- Non-members: $40
Players can sign up individually or bring a full team — giving everyone in the community a chance to be part of something bigger.
