UPDATE: Stabbing Victim Arrested After Walking Into Hospital
WATERBURY, CT — In a developing twist to a reported stabbing incident, the individual who initially presented as the victim has now been arrested, according to court records.
Police say Drashawn C. McLellan, 37, of Waterbury, walked into a local hospital seeking treatment for injuries consistent with a stabbing. However, following further investigation by the Waterbury Police Department, McLellan was taken into custody.
According to court documentation, McLellan was arrested on April 22, 2026, and is currently being held on a $25,000 bond. He has not been released from custody.
He is facing the following charges:
- Breach of Peace in the Second Degree (Class B Misdemeanor)
- Violation of a Standing Criminal Protective Order (Class D Felony)
Both charges stem from an alleged incident dated April 15, 2026.

WATERBURY, CT — A 25-year-old man has been arrested following a stabbing incident Monday morning on Prospect Street, according to Waterbury Police.
Police say officers were patrolling the 100-block area around 11:50 a.m. on April 20, 2026, when they were alerted to a disturbance involving a knife. The incident, described as isolated, stemmed from a dispute between two individuals.
Officers located one of the individuals at the scene, identified as Shyquan Savoy, 25, of Waterbury. The other individual, a 37-year-old Waterbury man, transported himself to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities said the victim sustained multiple stab wounds to the upper torso. His injuries are not considered life-threatening, and he is currently listed in stable condition.
Savoy was taken into custody and charged with Assault in the First Degree, a felony offense.
He is being held on a $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning at 9 a.m.
