Pedestrian Critically Injured in Waterbury Crash on East Main Street

WATERBURY, CT — A 35-year-old Waterbury man is in critical condition after being struck by a sedan Sunday night on East Main Street.

According to the Waterbury Police Department, officers responded to the area of East Main Street and William Street at approximately 9:26 p.m. on May 3, 2026, for a reported serious motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

Police said the operator of the sedan and a passenger in the vehicle were not injured.

The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported for emergency medical treatment, where he remains in critical condition.

The incident is currently under investigation by the department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU).
