WATERBURY SHOTS-FIRED INVESTIGATION — GRAND STREET

Waterbury — Waterbury Police are investigating a shots-fired incident that occurred early Wednesday morning outside a downtown business on Grand Street.

At approximately 12:45 a.m. on May 6, 2026, officers responded to the area outside 142 Grand Street (Grand Street Tavern) in Waterbury after reports of gunfire.


WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR

  • Officers responded at 12:45 a.m. to reports of shots fired outside 142 Grand Street
  • brief, isolated disturbance involving a group of individuals was reported in the roadway
  • Investigators located multiple shell casings consistent with gunfire
  • No victims were located at the scene
  • No individuals have reported injuries in connection with the incident

SCENE DETAILS

Police say the incident occurred outside the Grand Street Tavern area, a busy downtown corridor. Evidence recovery suggests shots were fired in the roadway during a short disturbance before the individuals involved left the area.
