Waterbury Auto Theft Task Force Recovers Stolen BMW, Two Arrested After Attempted Stop and Fleeing Incident

Waterbury-Officers assigned to the Waterbury Police Department Auto Theft Task Force recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested two individuals following an incident on Burr Street on May 18, 2026.

Via WPD SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS

According to police, officers were actively investigating a stolen vehicle reported out of Avon when they located a 2026 gray BMW X5 M60i in the area. A motor vehicle stop was initiated.

Police report that the vehicle initially attempted to flee but was quickly brought under control and stopped by responding officers.

The driver, identified as Jadyn Dejesus, 18, of Stratford, was taken into custody without incident.

The passenger, Stephan Mason, 21, of Waterbury, allegedly attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended shortly after by officers.

  • Interfering with an Officer
  • Criminal Trover in the 2nd Degree
  • Failure to Obey Officer Signal
  • Larceny of a Motor Vehicle (1st Offense)

Stephan Mason (Passenger)

  • Interfering with an Officer
  • Larceny of a Motor Vehicle (1st Offense)

Police did not report any injuries during the incident.
