NEST to Host Tree Plantathon at Brass City Harvest in Waterbury

WATERBURY — Residents are invited to help grow a greener Waterbury during a community Tree Plantathon hosted by NEST.

The event will take place on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Brass City Harvest, 359 Mill Street. Volunteers will help plant eight trees as part of an effort to increase tree canopy coverage and promote a healthier environment in the city.

According to organizers, the project aims to strengthen Waterbury’s urban forest while bringing community members together around environmental stewardship.

Funding for the event is provided by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) in support of urban forestry initiatives.
