The Town of Oxford (“Town”) is soliciting proposals for the clean-up and removal of debris at various river locations (Location #5) caused by the August 19, 2024 flood.

Submission Deadline

Sealed proposals will be received until 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the Office of the First Selectman, 486 Oxford Road, Oxford, Connecticut 06478, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Proposals received after the deadline will be rejected.

Project Information

Specifications and proposal documents may be obtained at the Office of the First Selectman or downloaded from the Town of Oxford website at Oxford-ct.gov.

The Town reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or waive defects if deemed in the best interest of the Town.

Scope of Work

The Town is requesting pricing for clean-up and restoration of multiple waterways impacted by flooding.

Work shall include removal and disposal of all debris within fifty (50) feet of the edge of identified watercourses. Debris includes:

  • Plastics, metals, glass, asphalt, concrete, and manufactured wood
  • Dislodged brush and stumps
  • Downed trees three (3) inches in caliper or larger within or adjacent to waterways

All materials must be disposed of at locations approved by state and local agencies. Contractors must identify disposal locations for Town approval.

Bid Requirements

  • All bids must include a five percent (5%) bid bond
  • Contractors must comply with State of Connecticut prevailing wage requirements
  • Contractors must inspect all sites prior to submitting bids
  • Photo documentation provided is for informational purposes only and does not define scope limits

Funding Source

This project is funded by the State of Connecticut Urban Act Grant, administered by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).
