John Bolton Pitches “People’s Lawyer” Vision in Connecticut Attorney General Race

Manchester- Connecticut Attorney General candidate John Bolton is campaigning on a message of accountability, consumer protection, and a shift away from what he describes as political battles at the state level.

Bolton, a Republican attorney from Westport, is running for Attorney General with a promise to refocus the office on issues directly affecting Connecticut residents.

In campaign materials, Bolton calls himself a candidate for “The People’s Lawyer,” arguing that the Attorney General’s Office should prioritize protecting families, fighting fraud and corruption, promoting public safety, and holding government accountable.

“Connecticut deserves results over headlines,” Bolton’s campaign states.

Bolton says the Attorney General’s role should be centered on serving residents across the state rather than political interests, special interest groups, or partisan organizations.

“The Attorney General’s client is the people of Connecticut,” his campaign message reads.

The candidate’s platform emphasizes several priorities, including consumer protection, enforcement against fraud, government transparency, and restoring what he describes as the traditional mission of the office.

Bolton is seeking the Republican nomination to challenge Democratic incumbent Attorney General William Tong in the 2026 statewide election.

The Attorney General’s race will be one of several statewide contests Connecticut voters will decide as candidates campaign on issues ranging from affordability and public safety to the role of government in residents’ daily lives.

The Waterbury Times will continue covering Connecticut’s 2026 election season and the candidates seeking statewide office.
