Waterbury Announces September Milling and Paving Schedule; Residents Should Expect Delays

Road work planned across several neighborhoods as city continues infrastructure improvements

WATERBURY — The City of Waterbury Engineering Department has announced its upcoming milling and paving schedule for the first half of September, with crews scheduled to work across several city streets beginning Tuesday, September 1.

The work, which is weather permitting, will include milling, paving, and concrete ramp installations. Residents in affected areas should expect possible traffic delays, temporary detours, and parking restrictions during construction hours.

Work is scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Parking will be prohibited on impacted streets during active work periods.

The current schedule includes:

Tuesday, September 1

  • Columbia Boulevard — concrete ramp installation and milling
  • Anna Avenue — paving

Wednesday, September 2

  • Columbia Boulevard — concrete ramp installation and milling
  • Anna Avenue — paving

Thursday, September 3

  • Columbia Boulevard — concrete ramp installation and milling
  • Dracut Avenue and Fanning Street — milling
  • Anna Avenue — paving

Friday, September 4

  • Columbia Boulevard — concrete ramp installation
  • Garland Street, Malden Avenue, Wigwam Avenue, Appleton Street and Riverside Street — milling
  • Anna Avenue and Hans Avenue — paving

Tuesday, September 8

  • Union Street — concrete ramp installation
  • Union Street — night milling
  • Hans Avenue and Leone Street — paving

Wednesday, September 9

  • Union Street — concrete ramp installation
  • Union Street — night milling
  • Highland Street — paving

Thursday, September 10

  • Union Street — concrete ramp installation
  • Hans Avenue and Leone Street — paving

Friday, September 11

  • Windsor Street — concrete ramp installation
  • Highland Street and Municipal Road — paving

The city noted that all work remains dependent on weather conditions and that the schedule may change.
