CONNECTICUT — Mountainside Treatment Center is accepting applications for its 2026–2027 Brighter Future College Scholarship, an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors whose lives have been affected by addiction.
The scholarship invites students to share how their own experiences with addiction, or a loved one’s struggle with the disease, have shaped their lives, influenced their perspectives, and affected their families.
Eligible applicants must live and attend school in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, or New Jersey. Students must submit a 500- to 800-word essay addressing the impact of addiction on their lives, how those experiences have shaped their understanding of the disease, and how receiving the scholarship would support their future educational goals.
Students under 18 may apply with the consent of a parent or guardian.
Applications are due April 19, 2027, with winners expected to be selected on or before May 15, 2027. Selected essays may also be featured on the Mountainside blog, with identifying details removed.
The scholarship offers students an opportunity to turn personal experiences into a broader conversation about addiction, its effects on families, and the importance of awareness and understanding.
