Waterbury Police Recover Stolen Vehicle, Arrest Bridgeport Man During Thomaston Avenue Patrol

Waterbury- The Waterbury Police Department announced that officers assigned to its Auto Theft Task Force recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested a Bridgeport man during patrol operations on Thomaston Avenue earlier this month.

According to police, officers conducting active patrols on May 11 observed a Dodge Charger parked near 110 Thomaston Ave. that had previously fled from multiple traffic stops.

Further investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Hamden in 2024.

Police identified the operator as David Rosado, 28, of Bridgeport. He was taken into custody without incident.

Rosado was charged with:

  • Insufficient Insurance
  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Misuse of Marker Plates
  • Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle
  • Illegal Alteration of a Motor Vehicle Identification Number
  • Illegal Operation of a Motor Vehicle Under Suspension

The department stated that its Auto Theft Task Force remains committed to proactively identifying and recovering stolen vehicles throughout the city.
